Food security isn't simply a matter of protecting supply chains. It's about people creating local food systems with the rich set of assets at our disposal. The collective knowledge of our community includes areas of foodways of the Middle East, food access, effective food action plans, successful farm businesses, and more. Join us and put your gifts on the table to be valued and mobilized toward food security in Columbus.
Professionals shaping Columbus’s food landscape met on September 19th to form projects. We invite them to use this opportunity to accelerate the progress of their projects, while we welcome new people to join our work. We will build on projects such as farmer surveys, youth education, and collective branding for foodways producers. You will have the opportunity to join existing projects or create a new one.
People brought their kids last time, and we encourage you to bring your kids and any other family members you think might be interested. We are looking at this from a long-term, intergenerational strengthening of our local food sources and a cultural exchange of foodways knowledge and experience.
Please join us! Whether you have a professional interest or simply a passion for Middle Eastern food, we need your gifts. Register to save your seat.
Please put your money where your mouth is. Donations between $10 and $25 each will make it possible to sustain regular in-person meetings: go.osu.edu/mescfund
