Looking to learn more about the Middle East?

For Ohio State Members

The Middle East Studies Center (MESC) is your starting point for learning about the Middle East. We are here to amplify Middle East Studies at the Ohio State University. The MESC's main role is to develop a scholarly community on campus and build linkages between Ohio State and institutions in the Middle East.

For both students and scholars, our "Resources For Research" page features a variety of tools and research engines open to the wider community. For the OSU community, the library is the best place to find educational sources. The Middle East and Islamic Studies librarian, Magda El-Sherbini, has assembled an expansive library guide

For the Greater Community

Furthermore, we aim to create accessible resources for the wider community to learn more about the world. Our page on "Recommended Online Materials" comprises of all open-access and aimed at community members. For a more targeted reading list, our "Topic Guides" page provides a reviewed collection of topic summaries on a variety of important issues.
