Book Talk: Prof. Jane Hathaway The Chief Eunuch of the Ottoman Harem

Please join us for a book talk with Jane Hathaway, Distinguished Professor of History at the Ohio State University, as she discusses the place of the Chief Harem Eunuch in the political life of the Ottoman palace in her recent work, The Chief Eunuch of the Ottoman Harem: From African Slave to Power- Broker. This event will include:
• Ottoman Turkish Music demonstration by Hans Utter and Hakan Kaya
• Sampling of Turkish food
• Book signing by Prof. Hathaway
• Book give-away to two audience members in a raffle
 
The event is co-sponsored by the Turkish Studies Working Group and the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. The Turkish Studies Working Group is a student-led and founded organization which aims to support interdisciplinary connections and collaborations between undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty interested in Turkish Studies at The Ohio State University.
