Sarah Spencer is a third-year student double majoring in World Politics and EEDS (Environment, Economy, Development, Sustainability).
She runs a local nonprofit called HARVEST, dedicated to promoting urban agriculture and sustainable community development. She is also serving as an intern with the Neighborhood Design Center, she is a member of the Student Advisory Board at Ohio State’s Sustainability Institute, and she is a Legislative Page at the Ohio House of Representatives. She also served as a Civil Discourse Fellow through the Ohio State Center for Ethics and Human Values where she moderated a debate on the foreign aid responsibilities of the Global North, and she recently acted as one of the Ohio Delegates to LCOY USA.
She is currently conducting research with Dr. Donald Sylvan on the changing political atmosphere of Iran, as well as with Dr. Eliot Alexander regarding the potential for diversified agricultural systems to reduce poverty and spur economic opportunity in developing regions.
