Community

Alumni are very important to us. We invite you to stay connected with current faculty, students and staff, who contribute to a vibrant community of Middle East scholarship at Ohio State University.  Join the Middle East Studies forum! You will have the chance to join intimate gatherings with scholars and newbies alike and will be informed about the current opportunities and resources both on campus and online.

Please also follow MESC on Twitter and subscribe to our newsletter to get the most information. We are also growing a LinkedIn page in order to connect our alumni to each other more.

National Expertise in Middle East Studies

Part of the Center's mission is to increase the pool of experts in our area by strengthening the "pipeline," from elementary school to university graduates. Language and inter-cultural awareness education develop students on the personal, academic and professional levels.  Thus we strive to provide the tools and information students need to gain the appropriate experience and training. We do this by:

  • Engaging with students at Career Fairs and Career Events at OSU
  • Giving Presentations and Q&A sessions on International Careers, and
  • Providing feedback on resumes and helping students find needed resources

We have presented for Columbus State Community College, Wilberforce University, and Central State University, as well as multiple programs on OSU's campus for pre-collegiate students and freshmen.  Would you like us to present at your school? Please let us know how we can be of help: mesc@osu.edu.
