Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Danielle Schoon (NELC) and Melinda McClimans (MESC) will present the results of a digital learning project they piloted in Dr. Schoon's Turkish Culture class in Fall'17. Students got to know peers at Istanbul University through online discussions, and co-authored an e-book on Turkish Culture.

This will be a great opportunity to hear about the planning and implementation of digital learning in our courses, especially in light of the OSU initiative to equip the incoming freshman class with individual iPads and to encourage wider technology use in classroom teaching.

Students submitted mini-reflections and other "micro-assignments" for assessment of their learning and earning of Buckeye Badges: Global Community Building, and Global Media Project. These badges form the center of an e-portfolio of learning activities for Turkish 2241, which could be adapted to other classes.
