You must be a US citizen to serve in the Peace Corps. Countries invite the Peace Corps to assist with projects in the following sectors: Community Economic Development, Education, Youth in Development, Environment, Agriculture and Health. Peace Corps service is 27 months with the first three months consisting of training in the local language, culture, and health.What are the Benefits of Peace Corps service?Peace Corps Volunteers are provided a living stipend, housing, medical/dental care, and 24 days of vacation a year. Depending on the type of loan, student loans may be deferred, partially cancelled, or forgiven. There are benefits during service and after service. See a full list of benefits.
