Lisa Bhungalia is a postdoctoral fellow in OSU’s Department of Geography. For the April conversation at Thompson, Dr. Bhungalia will discuss her current research on the intersection of late-modern war, national securitization, and transnational linkages and encounters between the U.S. and the North Africa/Middle East region. Based on fieldwork in the West Bank, Palestine and New York City, she will examine the ways in which security and counterinsurgency strategies are being transmitted between different sites of global "war on terror" to manage populations of "suspect" civilians across borders.

University Libraries introduces Tuesdays @ Thompson, a speaker series designed to honor diversity and inclusion at The Ohio State University by restoring the tradition of scholarly conversation over afternoon tea. We have asked four phenomenal individuals to talk read, discuss and share artifacts from their personal experience or the OSU Libraries’ collections related to a monthly theme.
